Once the student appears in EmpCenter, you can manually enter the backdated hours the student could not log.Īs a reminder, if your student worker isn’t planning on starting work the week of August 15, please enter a later start date that reflects their actual first day. If you are unable to complete these tasks by August 12, you and/or the student supervisor will need to manually track student time until they appear in EmpCenter. Students should bring this and their original documentation to Marquette Central on their start date to complete an I9. For those students who need to complete an I9, please print the JobX Placement Form by clicking the Print Details button.Once you have completed all the required fields, click on the Create Hire button.All academic year hires must fall within that date range. This will be the sign you need to know whether you need to send the student to Marquette Central to complete new hire paperwork. The next screen will reveal the I9 and OSHA status of the employee.Then, click on the student’s name at the bottom of the page. ![]() ![]() Notice that you can now hire students using their MUID (preferable) or by typing in the student’s name.From the Actions drop window, select “Hire Applicant.” Use the Search text box to find the job you want to hire the student.Student Employment automatically will be notified that a job needs approving, but if you need more immediate approval, please email Students: Once Student Employment approves it, you can hire students to the job. Updates to jobs are immediately sent to Student Employment’s pending file.Once done, click the Submit button and proceed to updating your other jobs. Pay special attention to the Pay Type, Wage Category, and Job Category. At a minimum, all of these fields must be completed before you can hire students to jobs. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.To edit details about the job, click on the “Edit This Hire” button.Then, click the “click here” link next to “discontinue accepting applications for this job.” If you want to disable this feature, please click “View or remove the online application” button. JobX is currently set to allow students to apply for your jobs right in JobX.These jobs are now searchable using their Job Reference number, not their Job IDs. Job IDs from JobConnection have been transferred to JobX except old jobs that had Job IDs that were less than five digits. ![]() You can use the search text box to find a job more efficiently.
